Acceptable Use
Draft — incomplete. Items marked TO DECIDE need settling before this is published.
This page explains what Interact DC may and may not be used for. It applies to everybody with an account, whether they signed up themselves or were given an account by their employer.
Fair use of credits
Simulation credits pay for the modelling work each run costs us. Using the platform normally — running simulations on your own estate, comparing hardware, producing reports — is what they are for.
TO DECIDE: whether credits expire, and after how long. The system does not currently expire them, so they last indefinitely unless this says otherwise and the code is changed to match.
What is not allowed
- Sharing an account. Accounts belong to one person; your organisation's administrator can create as many as you need.
- Automating the interface to run simulations at a rate a person could not, or to extract the hardware catalogue in bulk.
- Trying to reach data belonging to another organisation, or probing for ways to do so.
- Uploading anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload — including inventory data belonging to a third party you have no agreement with.
- Reselling access, or presenting our modelling as your own product.
- Anything that degrades the service for other customers.
Reporting a security problem
If you find a way to reach data you should not, please tell us at [email protected] rather than demonstrating it further. We will not pursue anybody who reports a genuine problem in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.
What happens if this is breached
TO DECIDE: the consequences and the process. Typically a warning first, then suspension, then termination for anything serious or repeated, with some statement about whether credits are refunded on termination. The platform can suspend an individual account or deactivate a whole organisation today; what is missing is the stated policy for when it will.
