Reports¶
A report turns a finished run into a document you can send to somebody who has never opened Interact DC.
Generating one¶
Open a finished run and choose Generate Report. The report is built in the background and downloads as a PDF when it is ready.
Quick Generate skips the configuration
If the defaults suit, Quick Generate produces the report in one step.
Choosing what goes in¶
The configuration screen lets you include or leave out each section:
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Cover page | Customer details from the simulation, and your branding |
| Executive summary | The headline figures, for a reader who will go no further |
| Source analysis | Your current estate, summarised — counts, grades, energy |
| Target comparisons | Each target side by side against the source |
| Methodology | How the figures were arrived at, and which were assumed |
| About | Who Interact DC are |
Individual metrics can be toggled on or off within those sections, and you can add your own notes. Under target comparisons, Annual Energy (kWh a year, current against new) and Power Draw (peak and idle watts, current against new) are both ticked by default; untick either to leave it out.
That methodology section matters. A reader who does not know which numbers came from you and which came from our defaults cannot judge the result, so it is stated plainly rather than buried. Think twice before removing it.
Branding¶
If your organisation has configured branding — logo, colours, company name, contact details, disclaimer — reports use it automatically. You can toggle those elements per report. Without it, reports carry Interact DC branding.
An organisation administrator sets it from the branding page. See Administering your organisation.
Before you send it¶
- Confirm any flagged specification lines and re-run, if you have not already.
- Supply your own energy price rather than accepting the default.
- Fill in the customer details on the simulation — they appear on the cover.
- Check for U grades in the source analysis. Many of them means the estate is under-represented.
Sharing¶
Set the simulation's visibility to Shared so colleagues in your organisation can open it themselves rather than working from a forwarded PDF. See Your account.
